I actually watched the episodes throughout college and ended up buying an M1 Garand at a local gunshow(still have it - IHC) with some buddies because of the series. I bought the VHS Combat collection about 15 years ago and still watch them now and then.

Hello troops,
I'm a new member and just joined up. I grew up watching Combat! also. Great show. Been so long that all the episodes are fresh to me now. I especially enjoyed the episode "Conflict", and many others.
They employed a P-51 Mustang to sub for a strafing Messerschmitt a couple times in the color episodes.
