The USS Iowa will be leaving San Francisco on May 21 2012 Arr. Approx. May 26 at a temp berth in San Pedro.
Sometime in June it will be towed to berth #87.
They plan what they call a “Soft opening” on Arrival. By that they mean they will sell tickets for the ride from the temp berth but no opening ceremony.
July 6, Will be the official opening day at Berth #86.
If all falls into place nicely they will be looking for room for a living history encampment for opening day.
Other than the schedule they have not planned out the opening day Ceremony yet but I will try to post the latest info as I get it.
