Details about this annual dance held at the Fort MacArthur Coastal Artillery Museum in San Pedro will be posted soon. The event will be held on Saturday, February 18 this year. It is a dance remembering the famous day when Los Angeles thought it was under attack from Japanese planes and lit up the night sky with anti-aircraft batteries.
There is typically a live band playing renditions of 40s wartime favorites and an emcee making periodic announcements of an unidentified threat off the coast of California. Attendees mostly dress in vintage civilian attire and military uniforms. The event culminates with a siren and the fort defenders putting on a dazzling firefight.
This event is a great opportunity for CHG members to wear their Allied dress uniforms and to bring their significant others for some good 40s era fun.

To all:
The registration time to volunteer as shooters for the grand finale of this event has passed. For those attending, please do not bring firearms to the event, even if they are appropriate to your impression, without prior approval from the Museum staff.

I was bummed I couldn't make it to this one as I heard attendance was good, weather was great, and there was a tiny staged Army Navy brawl. If anyone has photos, it'll be fun to see them posted on here for those who had to miss the event.
