Attached is a map of the Allied camping area. The Japanese will be camping further back somewhere in the area where the Ostfront battle was. Site still to be determined.
For those who have never been to Reyes Creek, it the same as going to Ozena only something like 3 or 4 miles further west of the old Ozena site. Lockwood Valley road makes a sharp S turn there and at the end of that turn the creek actually flows over the road (its only an inch or so of water, not deep) and just on the other side of the creek flow is a gate on the left. That is the entrance to the battle site. Parking is just beyond that gate. Please keep the gate closed so the cattle can't get out.
There is a ton of room for period camping and non-period camping. Super easy access for allied forces for vehicles, trailers, motorhomes, whatever you want to bring. Heck you could probably land a small airplane there. There is also the Bar & Grill just down the road in Reyes Creek where you can get a great hot meal and the owner and residents actually LOVE reenactors! Well, they probably think we are nuts but really like our presence. ;D
At this time we are planning a tentitive work day on the 26th of this month on a Saturday to prep the site for the battle. Pending approval.
We also have an opportunity this year for TWO Hago tanks. No, neither of these were the one that was involved in the accident at Chino Airport. That tank from what I was told is in the process of being dismantled. Anyway, we need funding if we are to get those tanks at this battle. We tried to get funding quietly but times are tough and money was not forthcoming so we are putting this out to the general membership of the Sendai (or anyone else who might be interested). Right now one of them is still available. The other would take to much prep time so we cannot expect a second tank even if we came up with the cash. The amount needed is very little. I was quoted from $200 to $400. Along with that tank would come more infantry support and heavy weapons that the Sendai can really use. Without the tank all that support will end up on the Allied side instead.
Well that is all I have for now. For the Japanese, reserve your loaner weapons and gear now. We have enough loaner weapons, equipment and uniforms to equip at least 10 guys. Buy your blanks and be prepared for a battle that should be bigger and better than any other PTO yet.
