For the German reenactor, the Soldbuch is the quintessential document. A blank one will cost you $15 to $30. And one that is filled out can add another $50 to $60. So this is no cheap investment for the reenactor. And when you would like your whole unit to have one the total cost is even more. But if you want, you can now make one for yourself or for your whole unit for about 65 cents a piece for a blank one. Now to begin with this this Do-It-Yourself version isn't 100% accurate. But for those units who don't buy them due to the cost, this can be alternative. Also this version can be used during reenactments when you don't want to risk demaging that $60 to $100 authentic version of yours. But while this DIY version isn't perfect it's pretty dam good for the average "day in the field" when your planing a surrender or just want to have papers on your person. Do it yourself - Blank SoldbuchYou won't find anything like this anywhere on the internet.

The templates are based on USA 8.5 x 11 paper, but you can experiment with A4. As both the Jacket and Inside Sheets, don't use or need the entire "width" of the paper. As to the longer length of A4 this can be addressed in your trimming of paper after printing, something that occurs for regular 8.5 x 11 paper as well. The question of course is how does your printer print the 8.5 x 11 template on a 8.3 X 11.7 piece of paper.

I have a problem, with making the pages. There is the cut line near the page numbers, but it isn't centered, by that I mean that the top half of the paper is longer than the bottom half, could someone please tell me how do I make the pages.
