Hago Tanks were armed with two machine guns and a 37mm cannon. Shells carried were both AP and HE rounds. The tank can and will be firing at infantry during the battle. Here are the rules for the a kill copied from the CHG bylaws...
(b) 37 mm and up – 150 yards. Can raze wooden structures with 1 shot, concrete bunkers with 2 shots. Can kill light and medium tanks. Against infantry, the kill radius from impact 30 feet.
Likewise, there will be lots of grenades and of course, you never know if we will be putting out booby traps. Booby traps have the same kill radius as grenades.
(b) The grenade will be considered detonated at its point of final rest, not at its first point of impact. (c) Kill radius from impact - 15 feet. (d) Expended grenades will be out of action 15 minutes.
Rules for Rifle grenades.
4. RIFLE GRENADES . (a) Must be fired at no less than a 45 degree angle. (b) Grenade will be considered detonated at first impact. (c) Kill radius from impact - 10 feet. (d) Expended grenades will be out of action 15 minutes.
Mortar rounds.
6. MORTARS . (a) Must be fired at no less than a 45 degree angle. (b) Round will be considered detonated at first impact. (c) Kill radius from impact - 20 feet. (d) Expended round will be out of action 15 minutes.

Please do not arrive on site earlier than Friday the 15th. Should you want to arrive sooner, contact me at kanowarrior@yahoo.com. If you plan on eating at the Bar, they open at 11am on Friday, 8am on the weekend.
Line up for the Allies will be Saturday morning at 9am at their camp. I will stage a line up for the Japanese earlier.
Unit leaders, meet with me at the base of the road going up the plateau in front of the landing craft at 8:30am.
Bring food, water and shovels are a good idea. It was dry out there when I was there two weeks ago, I expect it to be more dry during the battle. I will have my jeep there as I do every year, but it will be out of the battle. It will have extra water, shovels and a fire extinquisher. If you need water, no matter which side you are on, help yourself, the water on the jeep is for anyone.
We can dig on site anywhere we wish, but note that in places the ground is very hard packed and lots of river rock. Other places its not so bad.
For the Japanese, if you need them there will be tents on site that sleep from 6-8. Bring a bedroll or sleeping bag. If you use them please help set up and take them down, but they are there for our use. Plenty of parking, the Japanese parking area and camp should be marked with direction signs up until the battle starts.

No portables. Please coordinate with your neighbors on where to do your business. Please dig holes to place your byproducts in.
Also, trash needs to be hauled out. Please do not bury trash on site. I recommend working with your fellow members on trash consolidation. There is no dumpster on site.
Fire safety is paramount due to the dry weather and heat. Fire pits are authorized, but be sure any brush or fuel is well clear of them. Do not leave campfires unattended and overhaul them thoroughly when the weekend is through.

Probably need to designate a latrine area for each camp site. Otherwise, it's going to be a mess. Take into consideration the run off, etc.?

I should add that the Allied side should NOT set up any positions beyond the beach head this year like they did last year. Not only does it not make sense but you will be putting your positions right on top of the Japanese positions. Just in case I am reposting the directions for entry on to the site and where the allied parking/campsite will be. NOTE: If the entrance is locked (it was the last time I was there), you will need to take the other entrance to Reyes Creek and pass by the Bar & Grill to gain entry to the site. You can try to call me if you want but I will not have keys to gates and phone reception is sporatic. I will speak to the land owner and ask he leave that gate unlocked as it was the last two battles. Attachments:

Unless some one else has solved the allied latrine issue for PTO, the Seabees will take care of this. We'll site it properly and bring the above ground parts. Since the Seabees will be mainly focused on clearing vegetation for the volley ball court, we will gladly accept some help digging the slip trench, shovels will be provided. Marines needing instructions on proper use of shovels should report one hour early for training. BU3/c Rick Manzer, USN, 33rd CB (Formerly 35th ID)

The spontaneous volleyball outbreak between myself and pvt Ian lemieux has to have been a personal highlight of last year's PTO. The game quickly grew to 9 on each side with a decent ref and we played till it was too dark to see.

Roger, Doc We plan on being onsite around 1300 Friday. Thinking we will have the location for the latrine chosen around 1400 and will dig the trench then. Would be most helpful to have your inspection before we dig the trench. Thanks, Mayor
