Japanese line up 8am Saturday morning.
Unit leaders line up 8:30am
Allied line up 9am Be aware, I was on site last weekend and the main entrance was locked again. The property owner did not have a key and had cut the wire on the right side of the fence and pulled it back so vehicles can have access. There is a problem now for access by large vehicles like the truck transporting the tank. I brought this up at the board meeting yesterday and Anthony is contacting the property owner to try to resolve this problem before the battle. I have posted a more detailed map of the allied parking and camping area. I posted information for the Axis forces camp on the message forum but if you are coming Axis you can request more information from me. I will have loaner gear on site and that will monitored by Jere Hyde as well as battle fees for the Axis. Dave Sessions or Ron Gleasman should be handling battle fees for the Allies. I will probably be moving back and forth between the two camps coordinating various details until the day of the battle. I will most likely be out of cell phone range as it is spotty in this location, although if you really need to make/receive a call there are a couple good locations for that, just not in the camp areas that I know of. Any more questions please feel free to contact me. Tim Kano Attachments:

If we have to we can drop the tank on the road and drive it in.

I understand that we're in a dry season so are campfires being allowed?

Yes but they must be monitored and put out when not attended.

Last PTO some guys had a good size fire going Saturday night and went to sleep without extinguishing it. The fire was still smoking at noon the next day, we had to shovel a lot of dirt on it and poured all our remaining water on it and it was still smoking. I don't think we need raging bonfires, we can use common sense. Also, I've seen signs on the road to the Lodge that say you need fire permits. There are ranger stations at both ends of Lockwood Valley road where some of us can stop and get "permitted" at no charge. I'll get one at the west end. From NFS website, I found this information: www.fs.usda.gov/detailfull/lpnf/home/?cid=stelprdb5193333&width=full

according to this map, with the beach landing area identified, it looks like the battle will be in the same crappy area as the time Bill k. had his Stuart up in the brush! I thought we weren't using that area anymore?

Since the theme of the battle is Peleliu, the Second Sendai want to make use of the Top Mesa Area to simulate the airfield. The Top Mesa is more tailored for this, then the rear valley floor areas.
