CHG is geared up for the event this weekend. Please be advised that temps are expected to be cold. There is some snow blanket on the ground and there is chances of snow fall leading up to or during this weekend. Day temps should be favorable, but night temps will be cold. For those planning to bivouac, it is recommended that you bring modern sleeping equipment and hide them in your tent when not in use.
The fire safety advisory is high this weekend, regardless of the snowfall. The only campfire allowed is within the fire ring near the cabins. Only enclosed stoves and propane heaters and stoves are permitted in the field. No open flames and equipment that can produce embers. No pyrotechnics allowed, such as flares, smoke grenades, mortars, or black-powder firing equipment. Propane guns are okay.
Please help police the brass at the end of each day. Keep the site as clean as possible so that it is not ruined for others who use the camp. For those staying in the cabins, please ensure that you do due diligence in maintaining their cleanliness and return them the way you found them. Please assist the hosting unit, 2nd Infantry, as best as possible to make their work much easier this weekend. Teamwork makes the experience more pleasurable for everyone and allows us to return to excellent sites such as this.
Please have a safe and fun event this weekend. I look forward to seeing you in the field.
